Overview
Join us in person in Nashville, Tennessee, for the 38th annual Ascension Saint Thomas Pathology Conference with a specialized focus on pulmonary pathology. This comprehensive, in-person conference offers an opportunity to delve into the intricacies of pulmonary pathology and gain expert insights from leaders in the field.
Objectives
As a result of participating in this conference, learners will be able to:

  1. Appropriately apply ancillary studies for classifying NENs and separating them from their mimics.
  2. Develop a differential diagnosis of histomorphologic correlates for radiologically defined thin-walled intraparenchymal lung cysts.
  3. Apply immunohistochemistry to differentiate lymphangioleiomyomatosis from histologic mimics.
  4. Apply current WHO diagnostic criteria for intrathoracic NENs while mitigating gaps and limitations.
  5. Diagnose histologically typical usual interstitial pneumonia in surgical and transbronchial cryobiopsies of the lung.
  6. Distinguish usual interstitial pneumonia from fibrotic hypersensitivity pneumonitis.
  7. Apply histologic criteria and targeted ancillary studies to separate malignant from benign mesothelial proliferations.
  8. Develop strategies for introducing the concept of mesothelioma in-situ into practice.
  9. Identify the distribution of granulomatous inflammation to help narrow the differential diagnosis in various granulomatous diseases.
  10. Describe the quality of necrosis that characterizes each of the following: granulomatous infection, rheumatoid arthritis, granulomatosis with polyangiitis, and eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis.
  11. Apply current WHO criteria to histopathologic diagnosis of thymic epithelial neoplasms with a focus on thymoma.
