Overview
Please join us at the beautiful JW Marriott in Nashville, Tennessee, for our annual comprehensive update on the latest innovations in cardiovascular care. This education is designed to meet the educational needs of general cardiologists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals who manage patients with cardiovascular disease. This conference will focus on Guideline-Based Care in the Modern World, more specifically, new guidelines, research, and state-of-the-art techniques for managing patients with cardiovascular disease. Sessions will include developments in cardiovascular surgery, electrophysiology, structural cardiology, vascular cardiology, coronary, imaging, heart failure, and preventive care.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Develop strategies to transform cardiovascular care to meet the quadruple aim of increased access to care, improved patient outcomes and experience, enhance healthcare value, and elevate care team professionalism and wellness.
  2. Implement tactics that promote and reward care team engagement to transform care.
  3. Implement the 3 pillars of AF management including stroke risk assessment, optimizing modifiable risk factors, and symptom management.
  4. Identify patients who may benefit from rhythm control including catheter ablation strategies.
  5. Analyze the new advancements made in LAAO (left atrial appendage occlusion) and identify appropriate candidates and what patients can expect during the procedure.
  6. Implement guideline directed medical therapy in HFpEF patients.
  7. Analyze the risk of death and truly poor long term prognosis of HFrEF patients.
  8. Implement strategies to identify patients earlier in the disease process to not only improve long-term survival but increase likelihood of LV improvement/recovery as well as potentially catching patients earlier on their decline so that they may have all options available to extend life.
  9. Analyze the latest trends and recommendations in treating aneurysm.
  10. Recognize the breadth of surgical options for management of coronary artery disease.
  11. Develop better understanding of novel procedures and postoperative management of coronary surgery patients.
  12. Implement a quality improvement program to review practice use of new pharmacologic therapies.
  13. Develop strategies on how to treat in-stent restenosis.
  14. Develop strategies to appropriately screen, grade, and delineate underlying mechanisms of valvular diseases.
  15. Analyze medical management vs. time to referral for structural heart intervention based on current guidelines.
  16. Develop strategies to choose the best risk stratification method for evaluation of coronary artery disease based on individual patient's positive and negative predictive values.
  17. Develop strategies to identify patients who are at increased risk of cardiovascular complications during pregnancy and beyond.
  18. Enhance understanding of the role and benefits of SGLT2 inhibitors in heart failure.
  19. Implement strategies to prevent the disabling consequences of lower extremity venous ulcers.
