Overview

Join us in person in Nashville, Tennessee, for the 39th annual Ascension Saint Thomas Pathology Conference, featuring a focused exploration of head and neck pathology. This in-person event provides a unique opportunity to deepen your knowledge and learn from leading experts in the field. This course is designed to meet the educational and practice needs of pathologists, endocrinologists, otolaryngologists, surgeons, and other healthcare providers who are interested in advancements in head and neck pathology.


Objectives
As a result of participating in this conference, learners will be able to:

  1. Review clinically significant updates in classification of follicular-derived thyroid neoplasms.
  2. Define genetic differences that may aid in diagnosis and risk stratification of thyroid neoplasms.
  3. Differentiate familiar and newly-described salivary gland neoplasms.
  4. Illustrate the utility of immunohistochemistry/molecular studies in the diagnosis of salivary neoplasia.
  5. Develop strategies for diagnosing oral potentially malignant disorders, including oral epithelial dysplasia and proliferative verrucous leukoplakia.
  6. Differentiate among common pigmented oral mucosal lesions ranging from melanocytic to foreign material.
  7. Review familiar and newly-described sinonasal neoplasms.
  8. Become familiar with critical immunohistochemical and genetic workup for diagnosis and prognosis.
  9. Distinguish familiar and newly-described mesenchymal neoplasms of the head and neck.
  10. Apply immunohistochemistry and molecular studies in the work-up of mesenchymal neoplasms.
  11. Understand the key features of inflammatory and developmental cysts with correlation to radiographic imaging.
  12. Recognize key features of various epithelial, mesenchymal, and mixed odontogenic tumors.
